Magazzino del Sale n°3

In this video, Luigino Rossi and Francesco Mattiazzo are interviewed on the subject of the redevelopment of the "Magazzino del Sale 3", a salt warehouse that was built around the 15th century in a strategic location of the Venetian Republic. The warehouse is now a showroom for the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, placed in the context of the "Kilometro dell'Arte".

CULT Venice

The "European Hall of culture - CULT Venice" was held at the Venice Maritime Terminal on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of November 2013. On this occasion, at the stand of the Veneto Region, the arTVision project was presented through the projection of some promotional videos. During the initiative, the young artists involved in the project decorated thousands of postcards with the logo of the project in real time. The postcards have been digitized to a single frame of animation, which is presented in this video, before being donated to the visitors.

arTVision promo I

A short advert was carried out by the young artists of the Veneto TV Crew, to promote the arTVision project at the 55th International Art Exhibition and at the 70th International Film Festival in Venice.

Federica Marangoni

The artist Federica Marangoni, a Venetian operating internationally, was a pioneer in the 60s and 70s, as regards to the research in so-called new materials: plastics, neon and video which marked the artistic expression of the generations following Duchamp. We're still talking about conceptual art, also aimed at expressing a social commitment and a deep analysis of life and death, that man always has to face. This happened in the cycle of performances with wax and the torch as a media, where the audience could assist the burning and consumption of the Artist's wax body: it culminated in an invitation to the Moma of New York in 1980 and to the Venice Biennale in the same year. There she used the video, with the electrified body in wax and a self-portrait on a silk-screened plexiglas panel, two CH TV, and a video on VHS, “Life is Time and Memory of Time”. In this video, the artist draws a line between her early productions and later works.

La Fabbrica del Vedere

The "Carlo Montanaro" archive, now named "La Fabbrica del Vedere", is a private collection created in the 60's, because of Montanaro's interest and passion, with the purpose of collecting the documentation concerning the history of cinema. The archive gradually increased over the years. Particular attention is dedicated to the period of the so-called pre-cinema, from the birth of sound, with specific reference to technology, to animated films and experimental cinema of the period of the historic avant-garde. In the video, Carlo Montanaro discusses various topics, including the influence of the animated films in Croatian Veneto.

Guido Cirilli

Guido Cirilli was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in the first half of the Twentieth century, and a co-founder of the University Institute of Architecture in Venice. He was one of the main people in Italian Architecture, yet today is still relatively unknown. This exhibition, organized by the Academy of Venice for the Biennale Architettura, is a first step to bring him back in the right light, and to place him between his master, Giuseppe Sacconi, and his pupil and assistant, Carlo Scarpa.

Light Recipes

A recipe book is thumbed in its entirety. Pictures of food run fast. The look nourishes, it satiates itself... Or is it just an illusion? Thoughts about the Culture of Images.

arTVision promo VI

A short advert, created as a model to help start a series of videos to be used as a teaser to promote the project. The adverts are linked to technical activities of traditional artistic production, transposed through the use of audiovisual language.

Armature

Is it a body armoured with some text, or is the body of the text being armoured? The certain thing is that to arm the body with some text you have to first arm yourself with the body of the text. What you need is a book from which to tear out some pages, then some thread, and not to get lost. During the slow dressing stage, you have to tie the thread. It will come in handy to let the armour adhere to the body - the body of the text is disarming.

Ginger

Ginger is a hammer. No. Ginger is a moose. No. Ginger is a faun. No. Ginger is a seal, a walrus, a crocodile. Crop - the crocodile swallows all that Ginger that has ever been. Indeed, Ginger is a new hammer, a busted drawing regurgitating itself over and over, exhausted in its own distress.

Simon Perathoner

This video shows the work of a young emerging artist, Simon Perathoner, who explores the relationship between the various possible forms of ‘image’ nowadays, when translated into a code to be widespread. The artist, who was artistically trained in Venice, collaborated during the whole shooting process, also by allowing us to shoot previously unpublished material related to his work in progress ‘Substract series’.

APART FEST #01

Apart#01 is an electronic music festival managed by PAS_E, an association promoting and producing cultural products through contemporary music. In this clip an extract from the gig is showcased, starring Rabih Beaini & Charles Cohen with the Upperground Orchestra, along with the interviews to the PAS_E's members. The concert was staged and filmed on 26th August 2014 at the "Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi" in Venice.

SHAPESHIFT

Shapeshift is a shift of shape that misshapes itself by the means of its own axis. It is the mess of the upside down that reverses itself tidily. Like a cube becoming a sphere, in time, the shape's nature is cyclic. All around, the space is white, like the noise of the ground.

Teatro Fondamenta Nuove

The Teatro Fondamenta Nuove is one of excellence in the field of culture in the Veneto Region.

Any Animals

A. is driven by the overwhelming impulse to fuse himself with the book and to become as one with it. He cuts his fingertips. A. is no self-destructive man but rather he is making his touch hypersensitive, to multiply the pleasure of contact. A real sexual intercourse of his fingers and the book pages: the paper cuts through the flesh and the bodily fluids penetrate the paper. In the end the result will be a mutated A. hybridized: half man and half animal or maybe completely animal.
