arTVision preview

arTVision presents arTVision: this is a showreel of our production in the first few months of arTVision's life, coming from all the TV Crews. Pieces of shootings from Veneto, Puglia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania are mixed here in a solo composition.

PLESCALI

Fabrizio Plessi talks about the influence of Pino Pascali on his work, in a conversation with the art critic Marco Tonelli. Plessi takes the opportunity of this video to present his artwork for the XVII Pino Pascali Art Award, also as the main work of a show at the Pino Pascali Foundation during the summer 2014. Plessi met Pascali in 1968, who became a source of inspiration for him: the artwork is a tribute to his colleague, and was named “Plescali”, a mixture of their surnames.

Virginia Ryan: "Fluid Tales"

Virginia Ryan is a female artist who comes from Australia. However she is a traveller, a nomad. She has spent her entire life moving between Africa, Italy and the rest of the world. Her work, here represented at the Foundation Pino Pascali tells about the myth of the Siren and of Mami-Wata. At the same time the documentary is an opportunity to explore her connections with the famous African artist Frederic Bruly Bouabré.

DUEL: Agrimi/Fiorella

Two artists, Dario Agrimi and Raffaele Fiorella are interviewed here on the occasion of their show at the Foundation Pino Pascali. Different in their research and method they engage in a real “duel” that is reported by the documentary.

Still House Group

This movie introduces the Still House Group, a crew of several artists working in New York City, trying to go beyond the global crisis and to create new strategies of co-working. The movie also describes the show at the Pino Pascali Foundation, in Polignano a Mare.

Da Costa on Pascali's work

A French scholar, Valérie Da Costa, is carrying out research on the artist Pino Pascali. She has already written a book on the subject of Lucio Fontana and his sculptures, and now she is "walking" in Pino Pascali's footsteps. In the documentary we follow her steps and listen to a conversation with the journalist Pietro Marino, who met the artist at her last Biennale and curated the opening show of the Pascali Foundation in Polignano a Mare, in cooperation with the critic Achille Bonito Oliva and the director Rosalba Branà. Branà and Marino tell us about that experience.

Torre Guaceto

In this video, seven artists (part of a wider corps of 16) talk about a show mixing Art and Nature together: the second asks the first to reflect on the relationship with the environment. This actually happens in two beautiful contexts in Puglia, at the centre of this video: the Castle in Carovigno and the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, a protected area which for the first time becomes the location of an Art show, curated by Rosalba Branà.

Visioni

An overview on the activities run by the Theatre Company in Puglia that works in many locations of the city. The video, thanks to the testimony of the director Franco Ungaro and showing some of the projects that the Company has lead, offers an opportunity to better understand what work means in the field of Theatre today. Also, it shows how culture and territories can go on parallel paths and sometimes cross in a virtuous collaboration.

Luigi Mainolfi

"Mainolfi. Il Sole e altre storie", is an exhibition curated by Gaetano Centrone, whose main subjects are the sun, and the lifetime project of Luigi Mainolfi. The natural element is always present in Mainolfi's artwork, and symbolizes the struggle of man to keep himself alive. Through his own words, Mainolfi explains the developments of his poetry.

Southern Photographs

The show, curated by Michele Cera, comes from an international workshop of photography with the Dutch professional photographer Cuny Janssen. It was held in September 2013 at the archaeological site of "Madonna di Grottole" in Polignano a Mare. The workshop has encouraged the students to run their own photographic project, reading and reporting the territory of Polignano a Mare and Cozze. It has involved students coming from the whole of Italy. Cuny Janssen is the author of internationally popular artworks as well as of "My Grandma was a Turtle", "Love me" and "Yoshino". During the three day workshop, he helped the students in developing their own work and shooting a personal photographic series in a coherent way. The show has also exhibited works by Mrs. Janssen, shot during the workshop, Southern Photographs is also part of the project AdriatiCoasToCoast, a big international project which reads Adriatic territories: SiFest (Savignano sul Rubicone) is the lead partner.

Luigi Presicce

The artist Luigi Presicce tells us about the performance designed with Maurizio Vierucci (aka "Oh Petroleum!"), and curated by Marinilde Giannandrea. The performance took place at the Roman Theatre in Lecce, in the framework of Koreja Company's Festival "Il Teatro dei Luoghi". It is part of an unicum in the artists' work opening his research to the audience. During the movie, the artist also describes his own research.

Art and Crisis

Ideas, analysis, and different solutions to survive the crisis affecting artists, galleries, museums, curators, merchants, collectors and the whole Art World. Curator Raffaele Gavarro, the art critic Christian Caliandro, two gallery directors, Michele Spinelli and Antonella Spano, and Gino Battista, an art collector, are interviewed on the subject of Art in this age of crisis.

Post - Young Albanian Artists

The curators Antonio Frugis and Roberto Lacarbonara oversee a show depicting the young Albanian art scene, by means of an exhibition of several artworks. Artists such as Endri Dani, Olson Lamaj, Remijon Pronja, Enkelejd Zonja, are also involved in the discussion.

Koreja Theatre

Daniele D'Acquisto

The Contemporary Art Museum "Pino Pascali" hosts a project room dedicated to a young Apulian artist: the show described here was created by Daniele D'Acquisto, who lives in Taranto and is already well known nationwide. In this video, the young Apulian artist presents his work, curated by Lorenzo Madaro.

Another cup of coffee

Enrica Ciurli shows us what she is seeing during her travels as a commuter. This young artist from Lecce created a short movie that documents the every-day life of a person who travels for work or study from Lecce to Bari. However, the poetic statement of her work could be enlarged to a universal dimension.

Haluskein

Veronica Liuzzi, a young artist from Puglia, is dancing and playing with animated lights. Behind Veronica’s dance there is a game: a ball projected lights on a black curtain with which you can become distracted, but only for a while '. The gestural abstraction will catch your attention, reminding the viewer of the art of Jackson Pollock, as Bruno Zambardino recalls in an article in the online magazine Key4biz.
