A live art channel” (Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Puglia and Veneto).

The works, presented during the 72nd edition of the International Film Festival of Venice, were selected by a panel of experts, representatives of the world of cinema, the arts, media and institutions. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, September 5th at 6 p.m. at the Villa degli Autori, Lido di Venezia, as part of the Venice Days / Giornate degli Autori – an independent event on the fringes of the Venice Film Festival.

The prize for best short movie goes to Croatia, with its "Delta - An affluence of Art", by Marin LukanoviC, selected from 15 products within the project. By talking about the precarious conditions of life and the exciting work of a collective of artists, the inspiration coming from the environment and the daily dynamics of sharing a space with colleagues, the movie stands out "for having documented with precision in investigation, the life of a group of young Croatian artists", as well as for "the excellent direction, supported by wise choices from both a photography and set point of view, adding value to wise and punctual writing.

It is Puglia that tops the category for best video/documentary with "Torre Guaceto", by Santa Nastro, Francesco Saccente, Nicola Faccilongo – TV Crew Puglia, selected from 138 products from the project and filmed at the castle in Carovigno and the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, a protected area that for the first time has been used for an art exhibition. A work based on the complex relationship between art and the environment, awarded "for having been able to show through images the effort of joining different artists together who share the same background and visions," helping "the interpenetration of our landscape heritage in an artistic and cultural way".

As for best artist video, out of the 138 products under the project, the one presented by Regione Veneto which really stands out is "Ginger", by Giuseppe Abate, a young Apulian artist trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, who has experimentally translated the area of interest of his painting research into the field of audio-visual animation. To him goes the prize “for having made, using an informal and basic animation technique, a video in which each form changes itself, in an almost Escherian way, until it finishes as it had once began, in a meaningful and significant loop, allusive of the condition of art throughout the centuries and of the role of the artist”

The initiative follows the Protocol Agreement signed by Puglia Region and Veneto Region with the General Direction for Cinema of MiBACT (Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Tourism), to spread the artistic production of the project and promote its sustainability in the medium and long term.

The jury, chaired by Maria Giuseppina Troccoli (head of Production, Distribution, Operations and Technical Industries of the General Direction for Cinema of MiBACT, includes Giuseppe Ghigi (movie critic), Roberto Pisoni (editor of Sky Arte HD) and Antonello Tolve (researcher and art critic).
